On March 28, 2024, a unified patrol was conducted in Desa Kalahien, Jalan Pendang, and Jalan Negara, bringing together key stakeholders to monitor and prevent potential forest and land fires, as well as other illegal activities. This initiative highlighted the strength of collaboration among multiple organizations and community representatives, all working towards protecting these vulnerable areas from environmental threats.
Participants in the Unified Patrol:
Ade Wana P (Manggala Agni)
Luky Rivaldo (KPHL Gerbang Barito)
Limadi (Babinsa)
Purwoko (Poksek Dusun Selatan)
Wilian, Herlindi (MPA Desa Kalahien)
Letri, Pitrandi (MPA Desa Pararapak)

Objectives of the Unified Patrol
The patrol's primary aim was to closely monitor areas prone to forest fires and illegal activities, in alignment with Forestry Office letter number 522/795/III/Dishut. The directives focused on monitoring hotspots in fire-prone areas, ensuring readiness for fire prevention and control, intensifying preventive patrols, fire control measures, and public awareness campaigns, and also mapping and continuously monitoring high-risk zones for forest and land fires (Karhutla). The patrol route covered several key locations, starting from Desa Kalahien and extending to Jalan Pendang, Desa Tanjung Jawa, Jalan Negara, Madara, and up to the county boundary monument.
This collaborative patrol effort not only reinforced the readiness to tackle forest and land fire incidents but also strengthened community ties by integrating local community members into preventive measures. Such initiatives are vital in safeguarding our environment, ensuring the safety of natural resources, and promoting a culture of awareness and preparedness against environmental threats.
